Hi,

I have just bought a key to use with LastPass. Reading through your website I also see that I can use a Yubikey with TrueCrypt.

Reading through the PDF that describes how to use my key with TrueCrypt I note that I need to configure my key so that it has a OTP. If I do this will I still be able to use my key with LastPass or do I have to buy a new key?

Thanks.

Yubikeys have two configuration slot.

Slot 1 is by facotry default configure with OTP,

Slot 2 can be configured with any configuration you like.

Therefore, if you need OTP on slot 1, you can set up a long static password or challenge response mode in slot 2.

Thanks for the reply, so if I'm understanding correctly I can leave slot one to use with LastPass and use the second slot with TrueCrypt?

Both Yubikey's slot can be reconfigured as you like.

You must be aware of the fact that if you reprogram Yubikey's slot 1, you will lose the original AES key and you will not be able to use that Yubikey against any service that do not accept VV keys such as the wiki.

In your scenario, leave the original configuration in slot 1, and configure for example a static long complex password in slot 2 to use with TrueCrypt.
