Hi everybody,

I have just tried the new windows login feature for windows 7 and I didn't manage to get it working.

I think it is because I have reprogrammed my yubikey.
I reprogrammed my slot one to use with windows logon.
Slot 2 is used for Yubico OTP (and Lastpass).
And I think we have to use slot 2 for windows login, right ?

Even if I check "user input" the yubikey isn't flashing (and I cann't simply touch the button to make it work.

The configuration of challenge-response from windows fires an error "failed challenge-response".

Would it be possible to use the slot one to login to windows ?

Thanks !

Raphaël

Hi

I had the same problem. I have a yubi 2

I opened up the Yubikey Personalisation Tool
Clicked on Challenge-Response
Then HMAC-SHA1

Select slot 2
Secretkey Generate
ten write configuration

then to the yubi login admin
chose the username - configure _ got the OK
then clicked test

Hello,

Currently the software only supports slot 2.
It's doable to extend it to be user selectable at configure time but we wanted to keep the number of options down for the initial release.
So, right now it isn't possible to do slot 1, it might show up in a later release, but no promises.

Thanks for reply.

I would love being able to use slot 1 :)
Also would it be possible to be able to choose which slot is pre-programmed in a new yubikey ?

I have exchanged slot 1 and slot 2 as I have to type static password far more often than use Yubico OTP ...

If you (or anyone else) want to have a look at it and make it user choosable which slot is used the source code is available on github (https://github.com/Yubico/yubico-windows-auth), we'd be happy to include contributions.

Due to logistics all ordinary YubiKeys shipped from the store is configured with the same parameters.
