Hi,
I set up my yubikey4 to log into my mac with the 'Yubikey personalisation tool'. I can log in fine for a while, but then after a while, the yubikey password is invalid. It may be coincidence, but I've noticed that this happens if I leave my mabook runs out of power and I'm prompted with the login screen (with the orange tick mark). I can't log in using my yubikey so I have to reset my keychain using my icloud login. I've had to do this twice now and both times were when the macbook ran out of battery. Upon logging in successfully though, I checked the password string from the yubikey on a textfile and it had changed. I confirmed that the same string was being produced a few times to ensure I hadn't accidentally activated the OTP, which I didn't. I'm now at a loss as to why this is happening as there's no setting in the personalisation tool to suggest any password rotation period.
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced similar issues or if anyone could tell me if I'm doing something wrong whilst setting it up. I'm going to try setting it up with the PIV management software instead as I've just noticed these instructions on the website.
Many thanks,
Mike
