I admit freely that I am a little overwhelmed by technical issues in the computer world -- however, I was talked into acquiring a "neo-nano" for my system as I travel considerably particularly into hostile foreign countries ........ my problem -- I haven't a clue as to how to utilize the device as related to any of the work that I do -- all of which require passwords .. I am especially concerned about anyone going thru my Gmail accounts ......... I am requesting some hand holding to get into the right mindset to make this a useful device ...... any suggestions ?? as to where I can go to figure this out

much appreciated

The very first thing you are going to want to do is turn on two-factor authentication for your gmail account. Start out by going here: https://www.google.com/landing/2step/

Once you do that, your phone set up as your second factor (i.e.: code via text message), which is not optimal. What you want is to use your Neo-N as a token. To do that you need to enable U2F on your token. To do that follow this guide: https://www.yubico.com/wp-content/uploa ... ey-NEO.pdf

Once you have that set up you can associate your google account with your neo-n token (google generically refers to it as a "security key") by following these instructions: https://support.google.com/accounts/ans ... 3534?hl=en

Your yubikey neo-n can be used in other ways to secure your identity online for sites that don't support U2F yet, for example, using TOTP codes. See https://www.yubico.com/applications/internet-services/ for more details.

You may also want to consider using password manager that uses your yubikey neo: https://www.yubico.com/applications/pas ... /consumer/

I hope that helps!
