My Windows recently stopped letting my Yubikey type in my encryption code for my LastPass login. I played around with it for 3 days before finally figuring out the solution was to plug in the Yubikey and then uninstall the HID Keyboard Device and the Microsoft Usbccid Smartcard Reader (WUDF) from the Device Manager to get it to finally work again. If I unplug it and plug it back in again, it is broken until I repeat the same uninstall steps again.
The weirdness doesn't stop there. If I uninstall the drivers and then reinstall the drivers (by scanning for new hardware), it still works until I unplug it! Even if I reboot the entire machine and leave it plugged in, it will work until it is finally unplugged.
Anyone have any ideas? I reinstalled the drivers for every single USB port on my computer but that didn't do the trick.
