Github on mobile has a special login process where you are asked to hold your key close to the phone.

I'm running Android M with Google Chrome on my phone.

I have the new new 3.4.9.
According to this page it should be enough: https://www.yubico.com/faq/does-my-yubi ... -over-nfc/

When I hold the key close to the phone it opends https://my.yubico.com/neo/....

How can I configure the new NEO to use u2f over NFC?

IIRC, you have to install the latest version of Google Authenticator (I have v4.60 installed) for the U2F over NFC feature to work correctly. The requesting site will cause Google Authenticator to open and start the U2F NFC process, and when you hold the NEO to the back of the phone, the NFC functionality should be limited to U2F due to Google Authenticator taking precedence over the standard NFC reading mode.

MRuth is correct here, your phone needs Google Authenticator to handle the interface between the browser and the NEO. Once Google Authenticator is installed, you'll go through the login process to GitHub in Chrome and Google Authenticator will open automatically to handle the U2F action - this is when you tap the NEO to the phone. I haven't done this for a while, but I tested it quite a bit when we released 3.4 firmware and it worked great (over a year ago).

Thanks,

After installing Google Authenticator the github 2fa screen was replaced with one from Google Authenticator and it read the key correctly.
