I have seen the post about this theme and I think you must have an easier way to do it.
I devellop as a hoby not as a professional. I don't feel confortable in going through a process from which I didn't understand several steps.
I think you must figure that not everybody who acquires a Yubikey is a Guru of Informatics. Probably, as security problems get accurate you will deal with some interested people, not specialists, and with those you will need to talk an easier (beginner) language.
It's my case and thus I'm asking someone to help me in a language I can understand in order that I can get to work with Yubikey with LastPass in my Lumia 920. Follow any steps without understanding them it's a risk I don't want to run. One wrong letter or symbol are enough to put all down. And afterwards I won't be able to tell you why.

We apologize for the complex approach but unfortunately this is a problem within the Windows phones. We are trying to include this fix in future firmware of the NEO, but if Microsoft will fix it their NFC stack then future customer will be locked out of their phones.

Thus finding a simple solution that works for everyone is not that easy.

I'm sorry but I can agree with you.
Windows Phone 8 wasn't certianly made to work with Yubikey. At least I didn't see that feature in Windows 8 site.
But Yubikey Neo was made to work with Windows Phone 8, and its just that which I can see in its features in its site.
So, the least you should have done was correcting your commercial site, thus avoiding this kind of problems to your inadverted clients.
As you didn't do it, now you must solve your client's problem with the least disturb to them.
See for instance this post in LastPass app for Windows Phone. I'm not the only one who thinks so.

As I can see Jason too as acquired something which is good for nothing.
I think that those who have trusted in you buying your product deserve a little more respect than being sent to a forum.

I thank for your quick answer.
I see in page 2 of the thread Windows Phone 8 and YubiKey Neo that Uveinside too he understood the great mess resulting of all those posts, and made one that I consider very good that concentrates and organises all the important information writing it to beginners.
But I still have some doubts.
I have a Smart Card reader in My desktop computer and I need to keep it, not necessarily active, in order to use my Citizen Card.
Is it enough that I simply deactivate it in Device Manager? Or I must uninstall it? The unistalation is out of question. Yubikey works fine as Yubikey with it activated.
Yubikey as Smart Card still allows Yubikey as Yubikey?
Yubikey as Smart Card is useful for BitLocker deactivation, for instance? In other words, can I use it with Bitlocker?
And with other encryption software, as for instance SafeHouse which I use with some of my documents?
After the work is done, as I read in the several posts, we must keep Yubikey as Smart Card in order for it to work in Windows Phone. Is this true?
As you see the mess in the head of a non specialist is great. And at this point of my professional activity I needed everything but this?
This question, which is crossed in the way I had detailled for the security of my confidential documents, is disturbing the progression of my other works now. I see that I have to get back in everything, even LastPass, and find other solutions. The problem is that, ignorant about this, I have turned to LastPass all my security progress.
Thus my insistance in putting it to work. I want this to work, but I think I will have many problems.
I know that these questions regarding firmware changes, mixed with hardware activations and deactivations do not work with beginners.

BitLocker requires a PIV applet which does not come pre-loaded in the current version of the NEO. If you have your own PIV applet you can install it on the NEO and use it with bitlocker.

I do not recommend you to do this if your don't know what you are doing as you may break the NEO.

The Yubikey NEO has 3 operative mode.

HID - Yubikey features
CCID - Smartcard features
CCID+HID (composite mode) in this mode you got both. To apply the patch you need to switch to this mode, also called mode -82 in the documentation

Do I have to keep the smart card mode enabled in order to have my Yubikey to work with Windows Phone, as the thread you sent me to says?

I think you should be able to disable it from the windows device manager
