The last time this was discussed in these forums was on May 02, 2013, where it was stated "We are currently working on a plan to release the NEO + VIP but we do not have an estimate date yet for when this is going to happen."

Is there any word on when/if this is going to happen?

With support for NFC and FIDO U2F becoming important to me, I'd rather not have to carry two devices in order to continue to have second factor security for logging into PayPal.

Barring an official product, is there a way to transfer a VIP credential into a NEO?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! I was so concentrating on a hardware solution I didn't think of using a software one.

I'd still prefer everything in one hardware device, so I'm leaving this as an open question for now.

You could do exactly that with what I linked above. Download that python script and run it.. It will generate TOTP token/secret for you....which you can put into your NEO using TOTP manager for NEO... I use my NEO to login into paypal/ebay all the time.

Thanks for the help - I'll order a NEO now that I know that I can use it for both LastPass and PayPal.

Just remember to keep track of the VIP token expiration date.

From what I recall, the Symantec "soft" tokens (generated online) have a two-year lifespan, whereas the token installed in the Yubikey VIP has a non-expiring token.

You are absolutely right! Just small correction...the soft token expires after 3 years. At least thats what I gathered from reading this... (The article was posted on 2014-09-29 and expiry date in that xml token response is 2017-09-25) http://www.cyrozap.com/2014/09/29/rever ... -protocol/

I do wonder what would happen after it expires...will I not able to login into my eBay/PayPal account?

P.S. Even though Yubikey VIP token might not expire....if you were to buy the "Hardware Token" from PayPal/eBay directly, they will expire once the batteries run out in them..which according to them will happen in 6-8 years.
