Can I enable/change the auto-navigation url?
There was mention in another forum of plans to remove the feature, has it been removed in firmware version 1.3?

"Auto-navigation url" feature is still available in the YubiKeys with Firware Version 1.30. You can enable "Auto-navigation url" feature using a Yubico Personalization tool, if you are using a YubiKey with Firware Version 1.30.

I did read the manual but I don't see any mention of the navigation feature. I have used the tool below to configure my Yubikey, break it, restore it, and resynchronize it with the Yubico servers. This is the only tool... right?

The auto navigation feature is discouraged as it does not work in all settings. It furthermore is keyboard layout specific and can therefore cause a fair amount of trouble in an international setting.

It is a Windows-only feature and has some other "by design" limitations. It is currently regarded as an undocumented feature and may be removed without prior notice in furture firmware releases.

With the best regards,

I discovered two points – that may be of interest

1.) The use of USB extenders, hubs, extension cables, and USB ports built into monitors and keyboards can affect and inhibit proper behavior of the yubikey. In my case I had a Logitech USB extension port which was allowing the Personalization tool to work only partially.

2.) As I suspected, the regional settings for the keyboard appear to require a US English setting. As I live and work in Switzerland at the moment, my keyboard mapping is French (Swiss). The auto-navigate option does not work correctly in this configuration and as a result, when the yubikey is inserted, the navigation is to “httpö—www.domain.tld” instead of http://www.domain.tld as an example.

I imagine future versions of the personalization tool will factor point 2 in and allow for other keyboard mappings.

These issues will affect customer perception and usability.

There have been a number of newer versions of the personalization tool since then. The current version is 1.3.16(Beta). The current version of the personalization tool guide (1.5) contains instructions for setting or disabling the auto-navigation at pages 15-16.
