It's a brand new DELL XPS 13 inch running Windows 8.1.

I downloaded and installed latest Yubikey Windows Logon tool (see attached screenshot).

Even though profile is configured and tests well, after restarting (tried multiple times), Windows still lets me login even when Yubikey is not inserted in the laptop USB port.

>>> Turned out I have Yubikey PRO not NEO. Please move this thread...

Completely uninstalled Yubikey Logon software and API thing, rebooted, then installed it again following all Yubikey instructions, it tested OK with Yubikey inserted, rebooted again, then removed Yubikey from USB, rebooted and still was able to login without any Yubikey inserted in my USB...

I read in another person's post that this issue is due to using a Windows Live ID to log in.
It was explicitly stated that you must use an Offline ID to use Yubikey to log in.
I am wondering if it will be possible in the future to use your Yubikey NEO to log in to Windows 8.1 with a Windows Live ID?

NAT,

You should forward your suggestion to Microsoft. They support OATH thus it would be fairly simple for them to support the Yubikey.

NAT,

Have you herd anything from Microsoft or anyone else in regards to being able to use a windows live account and Yubikey to log in to Microsoft Windows 8.1?

Thanks,

Cody
