Hi Everyone,
I am a brand new Yubikey user, and I would like to use Truecrypt to encrypt my laptop hard drive.
I have followed the manual from http://www.yubico.com/files/TrueCrypt_howto.pdf, but when I am trying to type the password and confirm it by touching the yubikey to generate password twice, that is, in Password field and Confirm field, the "Next" button is not available. (please see attached screenshot).

I am guessing that this happens because the yubikey is generating different passwords for both Password field and Confirm field.
Does my yubikey has to be configured with a static password only for using it with Truecrypt? Am I missing any step in Truecrypt installation?

I am using Truecrypt 6.2a in Windows XP Pro SP3.

I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Oscar

You would require to reprogram your YubiKey to the static password mode as TrueCrypt does not support OTP mode YubiKey. Please use the YubiKey configuration utility to reprogram your YubiKey. The YubiKey configuration utility and the user guide can be downloaded from the following link:

http://www.yubico.com/developers/personalization/

The YubiKey 2.0 has two configuration slots. The first slot is factory programmed for OTP mode and the OTP generated from this configuration slot can be validated with the online Yubico validation server by default. The second configuration slot is not programmed by default. You can set the second configuration slot to the static password mode to be used with TrueCrypt. This way you can use the same YubiKey in OTP as well as static password mode.

We hope this helps!
