Hi!

I am trying to connect a Yubikey NEO to a Linux guest in VMware Fusion 7 Pro on Yosemite (clean install). The goal is to use the Personalization Tool in the guest OS.

I added this line to the .vmx:
Code:
usb.generic.allowHID = "TRUE"

The Yubikey device shows up in the list of available USB devices but is grayed out, so it is not possible to connect it to the guest OS.

I tried to kextunload some drivers on the host that looked related to USB HID devices, without any luck.

Any ideas?

I tried adding allowLastHID but the device is still grayed out.

Sorry if you already tried this, but I thought it was worth mentioning:

Did you try right-clicking on the greyed out icon and click Connect?

Solved.

add
Code:
usb.generic.allowHID = "TRUE"

to /Users/$USER/Library/Preferences/VMware Fusion/preferences
