I want to purchase an additional Yubikey and the new ones with U2F support make sense. However I have my Yubikeys configured with OTP for Lastpass in Config Slot 1 and a static PW in Slot 2. Does U2F need to use one of these slots? If so, does that mean I can't use OTP and Static as well? |

Hello, No U2F does not consume one of the OTP slots. It is a completely separate functionality on the device and you can register any number of accounts. |

I think this topic fits my question. When I change the configuration in one of the two slots; does it affect u2f on sites I already registered the key? For example dropbox or google apps? Or is it really totally independent no matter how much I change the configuration of the slots? And is it possible to create backup keys with u2f. Or do I have to register my backup stick as second key on every login? Thanks, best regards |

U2F credentials cannot be extracted, so you need to register each key you want to use with each service. And no, slot 1 / slot 2 are completely separate from U2F, changing one does not affect the other. |
