Ok I have finally succeeded in ssh login to my Debian Box.
The debug mode was useful.

I followed the tutorial but it only worked with One Factor Authentication. It would accept either the password or the OTP. I tried 2FA (the "required" setup) and it didn't work at all. Luckily I didnt lock myself out of my box :o Then I changed the following in /etc/ssh/sshd_config:

ChallengeResponseAuthentication yes
PasswordAuthentication yes


And then two factor authentication worked properly :P :P

Thank you very much,

I found this HOW-TO tutorial via google, and maybe you should remind how pple can generate the KEY and ID via the api. This was my main problem as i'm totally new to Yubikey.

Btw it is still possible to bypass the yubikey auth tapping enter (you will still be prompted for a password) connecting via sftp.

Hi!

I have a linux VPS set up where I currently use my Yubikey OTP and my password to log in via SSH (thanks in no small part to the info in this guide). I just got a new NEO to check out the U2F functionality. I love how simple that is to use with my Google accounts and that I can still use the Yubico Authenticator to generate numeric codes from my NEO in a pinch. Does / will the Yubico PAM support the U2F functionality for logins?

How can i set yubikey for single user (only one user)
Other user normal login without Yubikey!
