Hello, first-time user/poster here, I have two Yubikey 4 Nano - one on Windows 7 and one on Mac OS X. Both can emit OTP and seem to work well (used with Lastpass) without any configuration, out of the box . However on Mac OS X the small LED light flashes every two seconds. According to the Yubikey manual this means "3.5.4 Non-configured – flash(-es) every 2 seconds: Without a valid configuration the device won’t emit OTPs." Please can someone tell me what behaviour to expect on Mac OS X? Do I need to run the Personalisation Tool to complete some configuration to stop it flashing? It's very distracting! The OTP seems to work fine. Many thanks, Oliver. |

This is normal behavior on the YK4 and the NEO, as long as CCID is enabled. If it's not enabled, it won't flash. Disabling CCID (using the YubiKey NEO Manager) would disable the Yubico Authenticator, PIV, and OpenPGP functionality. |

I guess this i better than flashing but even after running the Personalization Tool and selecting "invert LED behaviour" the light remains on. For a security device, it's a bit conspicuous when I use my laptop in public. Thanks any for helping, at least the flashing is gone. If this is something that can be improved in a future version (software or hardware) I'd really appreciate it. Oliver. |
