Hi there,
today I got a YubiKey Edge and tried if it worked with all my computers (with the preconfigured OTP in Slot 1):
- Desktop with Windows 7: working well (LED stays on + OTP is typed)
- another Desktop with Ubuntu 15.x: working well (LED stays on + OTP is typed)
- Google Nexus 5 with Android 5.1.1 + OTG Adapter: working well (LED stays on + OTP is typed - most of the time)
- Netbook (Samsung NC10) with Debian Wheezy: not working...
From the tests the YubiKey seems OK, but maybe you have heard from the problem before.
Here is what's not working: When I insert the key into my Netbook, the green LED blinks twice and then stays off. "lsusb" hangs when it is started after the LED is off. If I start "lsusb" in the second when the LED blinks, the LED stays on and lsusb shows the yubikey as USB device. Only then will I get a /dev/hidraw* device. The problem is that even then no output is generated when I press the button. "xev" shows no key strokes. In one case where I started "lsusb" while plugging in the YubiKey, it started blinking three times very fast, ~500ms off and again 3x on...
When I insert the YubiKey before an OS loads (in POST/BIOS), it also blinks twice and then stays off.
What I tried: - power down, separate from power, wait some minutes -> no change - update to latest Kernel of Debian Wheezy -> no change - other USB port -> no change - looking for power settings in BIOS -> only CPU power settings found
Do you have a hint what else I could try? It doesn't look like an OS problem but like a hardware problem with my Netbook but USB sticks are working fine.
