Hi!
Trying out some things with the Yubikey especially using it as a smartcard for login onto a Windows domain and using VMWare Workstation 11.
Now I had a lot of problems getting the Yubikey to be recognized by the virtual machine but my host-OS didn't have that problem.
Here is how (I think) I solved it.
- First off I added a row in the .VMX-file which I edited with Notepad++ or your favorite text-editing software (when the machine was off):
usb.generic.allowHID = "TRUE"
The path to that file can be shown by clicking on your VM at the left side of VMWare Workstation where all your VM:s are listed and then "Settings" and choosing the "Options" tab, look for "Working Directory" (which actually points you directly to the .VMX-file and not the folder).

- Lastly I did a "secure remove" of the Yubikey in my host-OS and then had the option of "Connect (Disconnect from host)" in VMWare Workstation so that the device (Yubikey) is only captured by the VM(s).
Unsure if any steps are unnecessary but this is how I got it to work and wanted to share that with you.
Please let me know if it helped / Karl, Sweden
