I programmed my Yubikey with the personalization tool,
how to re-program my Yubikey so the next OTP will work with
the Yubico validation server again?

In the personalization tool (1.1 or above), set the following:

Eg.

* ykKey = b17....4b546a9402094744562543ed5

This is a hex value.

* ykUID = ykStaticID = b8a....7ccf2

This is a hex value.

* ykFlagProperty->ykFLAG_STATIC_TICKET = FALSE

This is to make sure the Yubikey to generate one-time password, not a static fixed password.

* Resume other ykFLAG_* you have changed from the default Yubikey:

If you didn't change them, leave them alone.

* Click on ykProgram to program the Yubikey

And to switch between OTP mode to static password mode, you can set the flag to True (static passwd) or False (one-time random password)

ykFlagProperty->ykFLAG_STATIC_TICKET

This flag only exists in the VB tool, not in the browser ActiveX.

Is it also possible to recover the original key settings? I've messed the key up too and now want to recover it.

Thanks in advance,

Regards, Jeroen.

Hi,
Same request , i've bought 3 yubikey , when i run the first time the tools to see the default value , i don't think that the value will be updated on the key "directly" without a message to validate change.
Now one off my key is "unasuable" , somebody can help us to reset to default value ?
Whose value need to be set in the tools fields , step by step.
Thanks a lot for your help to be able to use again this key.
Best regards

One idea , could you not create a "basic" tools or a tools with two level "Basic" where we can set the "static password" or "Otp" only and advanced mode for expert. In all case open a box with a warning message before apply the change.

We should of course have posted an official configuration tool earlier and I feel sorry for everyone who have been struggling with the sample code out there. It was never intended to be used as tools but rather as plain-vanilla boilerplate code.

But - we've working on it now and will release a polished tool very soon. Stay tuned !

A new Yubico Personalization tool (Beta) is now available for download. The new personalization tool can be downloaded from the following link:

http://www.yubico.com/files/Setup_YubiKCom_1_3_14.msi

We have also created a User Guide for configuring the Yubico Personalization tool and reprogramming the YubiKey. It can be downloaded from the link below:

http://www.yubico.com/files/Yubico_Pers ... draft3.pdf

We would appreciate if you can test the new personalization tool and provide your feedback.
