I just got a yubikey nano for use with my Macbook Pro. It's great except for one thing - I inadvertently brush it with my hand about ten times a day, spamming whatever I'm doing with a OTP string. It's become such a pain - esp with strings dumped into chat - that I'm contemplating just removing it :-/

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is there a way to configure it to only emit a string when touched for 2-3 seconds or something?

Failing that, anyone know of a way to applescript enabling / disabling a usb keyboard?

Thanks!

Hi there,

It is very unfortunate that the USB port in your laptop is located in that position, usually the nano fits perfectly inside the USB port and it is really hard to press while typing.

anyway,
If you are using just one configuration slot, you can swap slot 1 with slot 2. In this way the configuration present in slot 2 will be triggered only after 3 second key press.
Hope this can mitigate the issue you are experiencing.

Cool, that fix was pretty simple. I wrote it up for Mac users here:

I am having this same problem with my macbook pro. When I am typing, the OTP is triggered randomly, but I don't think it's because I am touching my yubikey edge-n. It seems to just be too sensitive.

I'm currently using the second slot. Is there another solution? I'm thinking that I could just increase the time needed for contact to activate the first slot, but I don't know how to do this.
