If you have purchased a MacBook with USB-C ports, you can still use a YubiKey on your Mac with the addition of a USB-C adapter. Yubico has tested various USB-C adapters. Following is the list of adapters that have worked well during our testing, and those that we do not recommend using. As always, we recommend that you test the adapters in your own environment first. Note: All testing was performed without a USB-C hub. Please let us know of your experiences using USB-C adapters, and they will be added to this list. The following adapters worked well with YubiKeys in our test environment:
*Nonda USB-C to USB (be sure you are using a “genuine” Nonda) *Apple USB-C to USB *Belkin USB-C to USB *MonoPrice USB-C to USB The following adapters did not perform reliably with YubiKeys and we do not recommend using them:

Interesting...I have a custom built desktop with USB 3.0 type C header on my front panel and an Intel USB 3.1 controller with a type C connector and both of my USB C ports work with Best Buy's Insignia USB C to USB A adapter and Yubikeys |

Thanks for your response! During testing, we noticed issues with reliability and quality of the adapter from Best Buy, as it shorted out both a YubiKey and a USB flash drive. It is possible that the short was caused by bending the cable at too much of an angle, or bending it too frequently. While you may not have issues, we recommend that you use that adapter from Best Buy at your own risk. |

It is working with the 'iXCC USB Type C to USB 3.0 Type A Adapter' from Amazon. (About $7USD.) No issues through a couple of dozen pushes on a new MBP-touchbar. |
