please, try to uninstall it and reinstall as system administrator.

I have the same issue on Windows 8.1 64bit. I followed all the instructions to use Yubikey Neo on the Windows 8.1 Logon. After restarting Windows, the logon screen displays a duplicated login widget: one login widget logs in without the need of Yubikey and the other one needs a yubikey. However, both widgets login to the same account.

I tried installing and re-installing several times. After reading this post I re-installed "running as administrator" and I went as far as enabling the hidden administrative account and installing yubikey login in that account. The results was a duplicated administrator login widget along with the other local user.

My windows 8.1 is up-to-date with all the windows updates.

Extract the files and copy them into your Yubico Windows logon folder

This should fix your issue

I have extracted the zip files attached above to C:\Program Files\Yubico\YubiKey Logon. After noticing no change I went ahead and Installed the Windows Installation files extracted into the Logon folder. Restarted computer and no change. I still have a duplicated login widget: The first widget logs in without yubikey and the other one requires yubikey. Both login into the same account.

I just noticed that the installation of the attached file above did fix the requirement for the Yubi key. I still have a duplicate logon widget on the screen but BOTH require the yubikey. One does not explicitly state you need the yubikey.

Previously I could login without out the yubikey. So, functionally it works as it should. Hopefully on the next Yubi Logon release the yubico team can do something about the duplicate logon widget.

Thanks for all your help.

Hello Diaz,

the duplicate logon is generated by Windows. Did you enable local account (local authentication, not the microsoft account) only?

please uninstall the logon tool, delete all the files/folders. Reboot, you should have only one account now right?

- logon as administrator
- enable local authentication disable microsoft logon
- re-install as administrator the windows logon tool. Install the additional updated files i have posted here.

configure the Yubikey and test its working correctly.

reboot

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem. No matter in which order, I install the files (attached above), there is always a Dublicat users. I have tested it on different Windows 8.1 PC, no success.
On the newly installed PC I have installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64bits.
Sorry, we can not use the YubiKeys, the security is so not guaranteed. We ask to resolve this issue quickly.

Thank You

Hi Tom2,
I can press Configure button after applying this patch.
But it says "Failed challenge-response."
I have alread configure challenge-response in slot2.
May I just use the same secret key instead creating a new one?
Thanks

Hi Tom2,
I have no authorization to compose message.
My FW version is 3.3.6.
All Features are enabled.
Slot 1 is Yubico OTP and slot 2 is Challenge-Response.
Thanks.
