Hello,

I have a couple of questions about the YubiKing hackathon - I have an app I'd like to enter but it might not be eligible:

Questions are:

1. Does the app have to do with authentication or can it be any app that uses a YubiKey (a Neo in my case)
2. Can the app use custom JavaCard applets? We have unlocked Neos and are under NDA with NXP, so we have full access to the JavaCard side but I think most competitors do not, so it might be an unfair advantage.

Could you please clarify the above?

Thank you,
Razvan

1) Any app any use. If you can imagine any cool way of using it we will embrace it. Remember that being user friendly and SIMPLE is the key.
2) I will double check with this with our legal dpt.

As far as I am concerned I am ok with that. However, keep in mind that we have to be able to verify what you have done which probably will require us to have the CAP or one of the NEO with the CAP on it.
Keep in mind that Yubico will NOT sign NDA with you or your company in this regards.

That's ok, an NDA will not be required, we plan to release the app as open source anyway. It's about encryption, not authentication, that's why I asked if the contest was restricted to authentication apps only.

Thank you,
Razvan

Be sure that it is easy for us to evaluate your work.

Video, procedures, installation, use, use-case...etc..
