Post subject: | [QUESTION] - Web and Putty authentication using keys |
Hello, There's a lot of info in the internet, but it mostly is either too common or too specific, or maybe I'm not aware enough about the topic, but I can't figure out it by myself. Some sites like startssl.com, webmoney.ru and some others use private keys stored to windows certificate store to authenticate a user instead of login/password. This means that I have to keep my keys in the system store of the OS. As far as I understand from numerous documents there's possibility to store keys in yubikey (neo or neo-n). What exactly should I do so that I can use my yubikeys to do authentication on such sites with keys stored in youbikeys on chrome on windows7? Another question is how can I use yubikey along with Putty (a windows ssh client) for authentication using a private key. |

Hello, Yubikey NEO works great with Putty. Enable putty support for gpg-agent, generate key-pairs and start using SSH in 10 minutes. There are plenty of information on how to achieve this, I can only confirm you that is works fine. Before running SSH session, always open a powershell and run gpg --card-edit to make sure the card is detected properly. If you have problems restart scdaemon |
