How to setup Yubikey button to generate the TOTP code to authenticate a Google Account?

Would not want to install the program "YubiTOTP.exe" on computers that I was accessing my account.

Thanks.

I noticed that the Yubikey (on windows 7) uses a standard Microsoft Human Interface USB Keyboard driver.

Totally understand the reason here but I did start to think:
Could a custom Yubikey USB driver be setup such that the following would work:
1) setup TOTP in slot 2
2) If slot 2 pressed and the custom keyboard driver is installed then the ubikey sends a prefix string to let the driver know that totp slot 2 has been sent by the user.
3) keyboard driver intercepts and consumes this data so it doesn't get output as a set of characters.
4) keyboard driver then sends the TOTP challenge response code just like the windows sidebar app
5) Ubi key responds with the appropriate TOTP code which is output just like normal as if typed on the keyboard.

This makes the whole process more transparent and is more like how the ubikey is intended to be used.
Ok - so it needs custom software but that's always going to happen in one shape or another with no clock available in the yubikey. At least this way could remove some of the clunkyness of the existing but working approach.
