Hi,

My company has a bunch of YubiKeys and we're running a YubiRADIUS server for our Citrix environment. I have a couple of (basic) questions that I haven't found information for and I'm hoping someone can help.

Using single YubiKey between two environments
Is there a way to have a single YubiKey used in two environments, namely our Citrix & a webmail (Gmail, Fastmail) provider?

Configuration slots 1 & 2
Similar to the first question, is it possible to use separate keys and store them separately on the YubiKey, and if so how do you invoke the key from 'slot 1' or 'slot 2' when authenticating?

(Edit: This item resolved.)

I realise these may seem like trivial questions but this is a new product and I haven't yet found the information I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance.

** Bump - I hate bumping but would really appreciate help on this... **

Hello,

YubiKey is a onetime password (OTP) generator device. It generates a unique sequence of characters as an OTP every time the button is touched. As the term suggests, a one-time-password is valid only for single use and cannot be used again for authentication. YubiKey is typically used in implementing strong two-factor authentication solutions that provides much stronger security compared to only username and password.

YubiKey acts as simple one-button USB keyboard which can be used from any computer platform or browser, without the need for installing any client software or drivers.

You need to just insert the YubiKey in the USB port. Windows 7 system should automatically detect the YubiKey. In order to test your YubiKey please visit our demo server available at: http://demo.yubico.com/php-yubico/one_factor.php. Just focus on the 'YubiKey' field and touch the YubiKey button. If authentication is successful, your YubiKey is working fine. If your authentication failed, please send us the complete screenshot of the response page.

Please visit http://www.yubico.com/yubikey for more information about the YubiKey. Also you can refer the videos available at:http://www.yubico.com/videos

The Standard YubiKey has two configuration slots. When the Standard YubiKey is shipped, it's first configuration slot is factory programmed for YubiCloud credentials and the second configuration slot is left blank i.e. not programmed. The two configuration slots of the YubiKey work independently and each can be independently reconfigured into OTP or static password mode.

If you touch and hold the YubiKey button between 1-3 seconds before releasing, the first configuration slot will emit the password (based on slot 1 configuration). And if you touch and hold the YubiKey button about 4-5 seconds before releasing, the second configuration slot will emit the password (based on slot 2 configuration). In case if you happen to touch and hold it longer for more than 5 seconds, the touch button indicator will flash rapidly without emitting any password.

In your case, you can configure both the slots on a single YubiKey in OTP mode or slot-1 in OTP mode and slot-2 in static password mode (if you are using static password for Citrix).

To configure or program the YubiKeys in OTP mode or static password mode use the "Cross Platform Personalization Tool". Please download and install "Cross platform personalization tool" available at http://www.yubico.com/personalization-tool

Please refer cross platform personalization tool user guide available at: http://static.yubico.com/var/uploads/pd ... ide_v5.pdf
for more information.

Hope this helps!

Thanks and best regards,
Samir.
