This will be a strange question, I'm sure, but I'd rather not go into any details.

What is the best/fastest way to destroy a Yubikey, to prevent recovery of a static password?

Location: Yubico base camp in Sweden - Now in Palo Alto
We got a report from a customer who put it on a railroad track before a freight train passed. Sad to admit, but the Yubikey perished and was not recovered....

I silently wonder what outcome this guy expected... Also securely wanted to get rid of its secrets ?

What about overwriting its static password with the configuration utility in order to delete said password ?
Just suggesting a softer way ;-)
