Hello.

I have recently upgraded to the YubiKey 4C, to support longer PGP key lengths, and purchased two of the devices. After programming both of them for PGP (they're working fine), one of them no longer generates the long OTP codes when I press on the two side buttons, and so is no longer usable for LastPass and other like services. (The other still works fine.)

Does anyone know what I must have done to accidentally disable this behavior (which I think is turned on by default, yes)? The only other difference in behavior is that when I remove the one that is *not* working from my laptop, the screensaver kicks in. When I remove the Yubykey that *is* still outputting OTP codes, the systems does not lock. I don't know if this is related or not.

Thanks in advance,
benton

Hello Benton,

It sounds like you may have reset slot 1 on your key, or tried to programme something else into that slot.

The keys are supplied with slot 1 pre provisioned for OTP.

I think you will need to re-programme the key to get OTP's working again. This will create new credentials for that key so if you have already registered it with a service you will need to re-register.

Here is a link to the Personalisation tool User Guide (if you haven't already downloaded it), and the section you want starts on page 13.

Hope this helps

John.
