So I've just learned about the new YubiOATH android app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... o.yubioath). I guess it is different from the YubiTOPT android app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... o.yubitotp) in that is able to store more than 1 or 2 TOTP codes.

It says I need to use it with ykneo-oath (http://opensource.yubico.com/ykneo-oath/). Instructions for installing that is longer and more technical then I would like it to be. Can't I use the GUI version of the personalization tool to set it to mode 82? Does that limit my use of the YubiKey with LastPass (OTP)? Is there a friendlier way of doing the gpshell part?

I very much like using my YubiKey with LastPass and would like it to make my two factor authentication with Google safer, but this needs to be able to be done easier. As easy as installing the android application itself would be great.

Thank you for your answer. I was talking about the app in the play store. My problem is not with the play store, but with the fact that installing the app from the play store is not enough. You also need ykneo-oath and my problem is with the instructions on that. The play store app is useless without it.

You are right, the installation on the Neo is not easy. Unfortunately this is an alpha release and we do not have a simple solution for that.

Meanwhile i'll write a tutorial on how to do it in the forum

Thank you very much. I succeeded into make the Android App useful thanks to your tutorial.

But I hope this whole procedure gets easier before more users would like to use this nice Android App. :)

I'd like to just double check on this. Is the difference between ykneo-oath and yubitotp-android the fact that the new -oath version can enable you to use your yubikey as a second factor auth for multiple sites such as gmail / github, etc whereas the older yubitotp-android app can only support one application (i.e. only github) per yubikey config slot?

If that is the case, then I'll go through the hassle of trying to set up ykneo-oath cause I need that. :)

Another question.. If I set this up, is it also compatible with the YubiKey TOTP Application for Windows or with the OneTime app for Mac? I'd love it if I could use my yubikey via the oath app on Android when mobile, but just pop the yubikey into my computer and use a software app there when it is more convenient, especially since I frequently have the yubikey plugged in anyway to do lastpass auth and such.

The YubiOATH handles TOTP secrets as well, using the smartphone clock.

How would one go about interfacing with the applet from a PC over a USB connection?
