I have a YubiKey NEO. It's configured with a static password.

I've encountered the issue where input characters are randomly omitted when entering the FileValut password on system start. There is already a topic discussing this issue, with the proposed solution of using the Output Speed Throttling feature.

viewtopic.php?f=16&t=834

However, my issue is that I'm unable to get Output Speed Throttling to actually work. In the YubiKey Personalization Tool under "Settings > Output Speed Throttling" I set "Output Character Rate" to "Slow down by 60 ms." Then I press "Update settings...", select my configuration slot, and press "Update." The GUI confirms success.

Then, when I use my YubiKey, the output rate remains unchanged. I still can't use my YubiKey for FileVault. I've tested this with multiple YubiKey NEOs, using the YubiKey Personalization Tool on OSX and Ubuntu.

What am I doing wrong?

You don't need to press update settings

Just selecting the speed on the menu will save it to the NEO. Do you have the latest version of the cross platform personalization tool?

Please dowload it from www.yubico.com

I'm running 3.1.11 of the Personalization tool.

I've attempted to change the Output Character Rate without pressing "Update Settings...", but still no luck.

I am also having this problem with the same firmware and the most current version of the personalization tool.

Is there any solution?

Kind regards,
Judi Smith

Pack,

You just need to select from the drop down menu the speed that's all, then powercycle the Yubikey. The speed throttling control was included since version 2.0 of the Standard Yubikey.

Regarding the NEO, this feature will be inserted again from the next firmware release.

3.1.2 is missing this feature.

So, 3.1.2 is missing this feature?

Can I return my NEOs to get ones with the upgraded firmware? My NEOs have been paperweights because this feature is missing.
