I got a Yubikey NEO today. I am trying to set a static password but unfortunately without much success. I have defined a 16 chars password length (since the firmware is 2.1.7). Here are 3 generated password:

bhcicjbfcicjcfcicjbfblcjbfblbhcf hkfhgllvcjjblrtveddnuebeketblrje
bhcicjbfcicjcfcicjbfblcjbfblbhcf kfgnjjngigtjcgtvlfrknivhifjrrrvg
bhcicjbfcicjcfcicjbfblcjbfblbhcf rivlhcvnntdbrvrkcbcjftblfvlrngkh

I have also used a 16 chars scan code password. Here is what I get

bgcjbgjtlcjijkcjcfcikucvcilhlbbb uhetbecjktbvfcnfkejrkecdijdffiju
bgcjbgjtlcjijkcjcfcikucvcilhlbbb cecchuviukjhvdjbkgbujkecfrruvjgl
bgcjbgjtlcjijkcjcfcikucvcilhlbbb urutdhecfeukdhdduikebjefnfnekdhl

Again, only the 1st 32 chars are fixed. I am using the personalization tool under mac os x. (I have also tried the original windows personalization tool as well the command line version).

How can I have a unique and fixed static password? For now, no matter what I keep having an otp part.

Thank you for both your forum post and your email.

We have updated our web site and web store to include the information that the YubiKey NEO in pre-production does not support static password. Thank you for highlighting this to us so we could improve the information.
