Post subject:  Need help with gpg-agent for SSH on Windows

Hi there.

I am trying to use GPG key from my Yubi4 for SSH authentication.
gpg-agent (GnuPG) 2.1.21/libgcrypt 1.7.6 installed from "Simple installer for the current GnuPG", not Gpg4win.

I have enable-ssh-support in C:\Users\[user]\.gnupg\gpg-agent.conf
C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\gnupg\sshcontrol contains keygrip of a key, I want to use.

I am starting the agent with gpg-connect-agent.exe /bye
It goes start and creates set of sockets:

I manually set SSH_AUTH_SOCK to C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\gnupg\S.gpg-agent.ssh
...and that is where I am getting stuck.

ssh-add.exe -l
gives me "Error connecting to agent: Bad file descriptor"

What am I doing wrong?
Thank you.

Hello Nipp,

First ensure you are running in a elevated command prompt you should see "Administrator:Command Prompt" at the top of the window if you just see "Command Prompt" that than you are running in a non-elevated command prompt and do not have the required permissions to access the agent. If you're running in an elevated command prompt it maybe prudent to post in the GnuPG community forums for connecting to the agent.

Best Regards,
