Suggestion from Santiago:
---
I use a mac computer with leopard, is there a way in what I can use Yubikey to log in into my computer and use it to unlock my keychain. That would be really exciting an a big step in security.

We are starting to look at ways to customize the Mac security features. Our main platform is Windows though, so if some other company wants to jump in here and do this first, we are happy for you :)

This is something I am looking into. I have only just started though and time is limited, so I don't know when I will having anything for you to try.

If anyone else in interested in this solution then please let me know, if there is a lot of interest I may be able to re-prioritise.

Anyone knows of Mac OS X supports PAM? I thought it did, but I'm not sure. If so, our PAM module could be a solution.

Yes, it does.

Have anyone tried to install the YubiKey PAM module on Mac OS X? If there is PAM support in Mac OS X, getting this to work should be simple.

See:

http://code.google.com/p/yubico-pam/

Check out the wiki pages for configuration hints.

There is also disconnected PAM module in case you aren't online:

We tried to compile your PAM under mac os x 10.5.5 .
Unfortunately there was an error:
"configure: error: PAM header files not found, install libpam-dev"
Th xCode install doesnt include libpam-dev library by default, googling doesnt get any result.

The last link also for linux.
