So on the machine I have here it's possible to actually put the Yubikey in upside down and that lets to scratches on the copper tracks because there are two pieces of metal on the upper/lower side of the USB connector inside the computer. I assume Yubikey is built to withstand this kind of punishment? |

Oops! I hope your Yubikey is still functioning. The previous Yubikeys are thinner but they are loose in certain USB ports. So we made Yubikey thicker now to avoid being loose in the USB ports and lose communication. But the thickness makes them subject to scratches. If that is way too unacceptable, please kindly send it back to Yubico's European or US office, depends on where you are, and you will get a brand new replacement, maybe the thin version for you? Thanks

Let me add that the USB gold tracks are made of a specially hardened gold that should withstand scratching. If you ever run into quality trouble with it, let us know! I have had mine on my daily key chain for half a year or so without any noticiable scratches. /Simon |
