One of the ways that I am using my Yubikey is as a static password for my TrueCrypt containers. Once in a while I will notice that my key authentication fails and when I generate the static password (with the long hold of the button), into Notepad, I will notice that the case of the key is inverted ABcd will be displayed as abCD. Sometimes moving the Yubikey to a different USB slot, or a reboot of the computer (Windows 7) will fix this issue. Any suggestions?

Heya, I too noticed this the other day while messing around with static passwords, and was going to report, but then noticed I had the caps lock on, so turned it off, and case was corrected.

Maybe this is what is happening with you, I did try it a few times to make sure.

I use my static password as my TrueCrypt key for full disk encryption therefore it happens in the pre-boot. I've cycled the CAPS LOCKS key however this makes no difference. I have also tried inserting the key before and after I turn the computer on; no change.

Sorry I couldn't help. I too use my key in static mode for TrueCrypt full disk encryption, and have never had this problem (Firmware 2.1.1), oh and in your original post you did say containers and not drive encryption, but anyway that's moot if this isn't the problem with the caps lock like I had.

Hope you get it sorted.
