Post subject: | [QUESTION] Multi protocols |
Hey. I just received my Yubikey Neo and I'm excited to get started. However I have a few questions. 1. Why do i need Yubikey OTP? If i wipe that configuration slot, I understand I'll lose access to these forums, but that seems to be it. Are there any other sites that I will lose access to?(eg. Google, Dropbox, etc.) 2. I know that I can use a static password+OATH HOTP on my Yubikey Neo at the same time(by using both slot 1 and slot 2). However is it possible to use a Yubico OTP along with both of these protocols? 3. I'm currently using Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10049. I wiped my config slot 2, and tried to set up a windows logon with Yubikey, however it doesn't work. 4. Is there any way that I can use my Yubikey to login to windows, unlock my keepass DB, and use a static password for my Truecrypt Whole-disk Encryption at startup at the same time? I understand that U2F doesn't take up a configuration slot, but does it work with Yubico OTP? And can I safely remove Yubico OTP to replace it with a static password without losing access to U2F sites? 5. I've seen a lot of messages saying It's dangerous to wipe slot 1, as it has the yubico OTP. But i see an option in the Personalization tool to re-upload a yubico OTP to the servers. If i back up my Public Identity, Private Identity and Secret Key, will i be able to re upload these keys to the Yubico server? Thanks. |

Go to profile settings on this forum and switch off "require OTP on login" or something like that called. And you will not lose access to services like Google and et. 2. Yo can set up static pass in second slot, leave OTP in first and use YubiOATH applet to use with Google, Dropbox, Kickstarter, Github and etc.(all sites that work with Google Authenticator) 3.How you tried to set this up? 4. My example: static pass(slot1) for TrueCrypt(still trying to do something with PIV and PCKS), HMAC-SHA1 for OS login(slot2), YubiOATH(CCID part of Yubikey with applets) for Google, Dropbox and etc. 5. I have wiped OTP, then tried to register here and so that I need OTP ))) so re-applied OTP again through Pers Tool and got my key uploaded to Yubi servers, so no problem IMHO to wipe it. |
