Hi!

I've set NEO to mode 82 and it shows up as a card reader ("Yubico Yubikey NEO OTP+CCID 0") in Windows, but the SCardConnect command gives 0x80100066 which is SCARD_W_UNRESPONSIVE_CARD.

Testing with opensc-tool it says
"Failed to connect to card: Unresponsive card (correctly inserted?)"

Once, directly after install, I was able to get the connect and get the ATR, but after the first reset it is unresponsive again.

Setting the NEO to mode 82 is the only thing I've done so far, no GPG or anything else.

Can you give any hint on how to be able to connect to the NEO?

John

Hello,

You should be able to connect to the NEO with those steps.

What output do you get from opensc-tool --list-readers ?

I did set the mode to 2 to make sure I haven't had a problem with a non-inserted card and then it shows up alright:

opensc-x86_64-w64-mingw32-008-base\bin>opensc-tool --list-readers
Readers known about:
Nr. Driver Name
0 pcsc Yubico Yubikey NEO OTP+CCID 0

opensc-x86_64-w64-mingw32-008-base\bin>opensc-tool --atr
Using reader with a card: Yubico Yubikey NEO OTP+CCID 0
3b:fc:13:00:00:81:31:fe:45:59:75:62:69:6b:65:79:4e:45:4f:72:33:b1

I started up my card detection software and the NEO is unresponsive again, so obviosly it's the card detecting software causing the problem. Looking at the log from the card detection software it's not that many commands being sent:

[9740:0292] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - SCardEstablishContext
[9740:0292] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - Return 0

[9740:0292] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - Return 0
[9740:0292] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - SCardReleaseContext
[9740:0292] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - Return 0

[9740:0392] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - SCardEstablishContext
[9740:0392] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - Return 0
[9740:0392] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - SCardConnect
[9740:0392] 00.00.00.000 PCSC - Return 22

If I remember the ISO7816-4 correctly, the 6e00 code means "class not supported", which is understandable with the class FF. The 6700 means "wrong length".

Does the NEO somehow get lost by these commands?

Interesting..

I've just tested sending those commands to a neo and I get the same responses but no issue with the card being ejected.
What card detection software are you using?
