We have identified an issue when programming a key. You get a read error produced if you are using a machine with a USB keyboard. It's taken us ages to work. Remove the keyboard and all is well. Is there a work around to this that I have missed in the documentation? |

It can't be any machine with any usb keyboard, or else everyone would by now have complained! I look forward to hearing further details from OP or yubico. |

Update: We have now identified it is not all manufacturers of keyboard. Dell (SK-8115) - Fail Toshiba (PX1252E-1DAC) - Success Dell (RT7D40) - Success I wonder if it is worth putting a wiki page up so people can add working/non working keyboards. Could this also answer the issue that is being blamed on Vista? I am using Vista and using my keyboard it was fine. I don't think it is an OS issue as it doesn't seem to matter if the machine is Vista or XP the results are as above. |

Does it happen for you with any USB keyboard? Maybe the keyboard you have has a broken USB HID implementation, although I cannot really understand how it would cause problems: the USB device ids etc should make sure trafic gets to the proper device. /Simon |

Interesting! Thanks for additional info. As it happens, I happen to have a Dell SK-8115 keyboard, it is the one I'm typing on now. I'll see if I can reproduce it, or give it to Jakob to debug it. /Simon |

Thanks everybody for your input - thanks to the secret word "Dell 8115", we got an attack vector to track down the bug. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=145 I know I owe some people a beer or two, but I beleive it would be easier to send you some spare Yubikeys... Everyone who have suffered and/or contributed, send me an e-mail and I'll ensure that some complementary keys are sent. Regards, Jakob E Hardware- and firmware guy @ Yubico |

I can confirm the new DLL fixes this issue. Thanks. |

Is the USB keyboard issue only with Windows? I just acquired two yubikeys and use Linux exclusively and I have thus far no issues with the USB keyboards I have on my systems. Harish |
