Just wondering: the limited edition ("New Year's") Yubikeys with OTP+U2F - a very handy combination - are noticeably thicker than ordinary U2F or OTP keys, including the NEO, which also has OTP+U2F. They also have a small ridge between the usb flange and the body of the key. Why the differences in the form factor? |

We have been experimenting with new types of plastic, to provide better quality and durability for colored Yubikeys. The new plastic should also be even more sturdy then the previous one and, a metal ring has been added in the key-chain hold to increase resistance to friction over time around the hole. The indented golden disc (capacitive button) should now provide better feeling during touch |

I just wanted to add that I really like the physical improvements with the YK+, especially the metal disk to reduce long-term keychain wear. I assume these improvements will eventually make their way into the security keys and ykneos? |
