Hi,

I received by Yubikey yesterday.

I am trying to configure Slot 1 for Static password, but it keeps giving the below error

"Yubikey could not be configured. Perhaps protected with configuration protection access code?

I was able to configure Slot 2 to Yubico OTP settings to be able to use it with LastPass.

Any ideas on how to fix this are appreciated.

Best,

Bijjol.

Hello,

I also have this problem. It seems there may be some default access code?

I'm on firmware 2.3.3 application version 3.1.8 library version 1.12.0

I'd like to have slot 1 be my 44 char OTP and my slot 2 be challenge response for windows logon, however this is blocking me from being able to do so.

EDIT: I also find it strange that the only thread I could find about it was posted on the same day. Could it be a bad batch or something?

Hello,

Yubikey are shipped pre-configured with the Yubico OTP in slot 1.

If this is not what you received you should contact support@yubico.com and they will guide you through the substitution process.

Regarding the batch, i will check on that could you tell me the country you guys are from? In Private message so we do not disclose your location.

There are no default access code, and the Yubikey is not protected by any code unless you configure one. Many users accidentally activate the protection code with all 0 zeros.

Hello,

My yubikey puts out a 6 char numeric OTP instead of a 44 char one.

I don't mind. I'm from USA.

It did that from the very instant I plugged it in, I didn't do anything to activate the protection code.

Wait,

Are you sure you did not order a Yubikey VIP? The 6 Digit is a Yubikey VIP maybe you YubiKey VIP + LastPass Premium 1 year ?

Because in that case your Yubikey is working correctly!

If you want the Yubico OTP you need to activate the dormant configuration which is store in slot 2!
