Is there any way to update the firmware? Is that something that ever needs to be done?

The firmware cannot be field upgraded.

We have a conservative approach in releasing new firmware revisions. We beleive stable and proven behavior is the most important thing and unless we really need to do any upgrades, we are collecting feature requests to the next major product upgrade.

Under windows, if it doesn't show up as a Yubico Yubikey touch, You can still find out its version.

It will most likely be listed as "HID Keyboard Device" under Keyboards. In any case, Yubikeys will have VID = 0x1050 and PID = 0x0010. If you go under details, and select Hardware IDs, you will find the Revision, = 0x0110. (Either 1.1 or 1.2 yubikeys, since they forgot to update the revision number for 1.2), or 0x0130 for 1.30 Yubikeys.

(Oh yeah, I am another one to have discovered yubikey by security now.)

Mine is Rev_0132 (fyi: I found mine when I went under the 'human interface devices' under 'usb human interface device' not the suggested 'hid keyboard device')

Thank you for the assistance Cait

Hi there,

Is there a list for public releases Yubikey Firmware releases?
e.g.
v1.0.0
...
v1.3.1
....
Would be cool for documentation purposes in my key database to have a check table with valid key versions.
I would be very grateful for such a list.

Regards

Urs
