Post subject:  Yubikey Neo and Samsung Ativ S windows phone

Hello,

Just received my yubikey neo, and followed this tutorial about the personalization tool :
https://helpdesk.lastpass.com/security- ... ntication/
Everything was updated (ndef and url) successfully.

Seems not so many people have a Samsung ativ S phone (windows phone 8) so my searches about this issue were inconclusive. The phone recognizes the NFC device (small sound when the key is around NFC reach) but once on the lastpass app, the prompt asking for the yubikey stays the same when I swipe the key on it.

So I'm stuck at the yubikey prompt on lastpass app. Any idea how to solve this ?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

When you are sitting on your Android home screen, and tap the NEO to the phone what happens?

Chrome is executed and goes on lastpass website ?

Or are you manually going to lastpass website?

Hello
It's not android, it's windows phone 8.

When I tap the nfc key on the phone, I hear a sound, but nothing happens.

There is no chrome app on windows phone, only internet explorer. I'm using lastpass mobile (premium account) with the yubikey, but it doesn't fill the field with the yubikey token

The nfc key is recognized but it does nothing.

I also have an android tablet on which the key works perfectly fine, so it's not broken, I guess it's a software config issue.

Letra,

Is this statement correct?

"You have lastpass mobile app installed. When you tap the NEO to the phone you hear a sound but no browser no lastpass app is executed". Is it correct?

If this is the case you can try using the windows phone NFC fix.
The NFC stack of windows phone is not working correctly; we have had other reports I.e. Nokia 920. We developed a fix but this requires some advanced skills.
Unfortunately this is a windows phone issue and we cannot do anything about it.

Please read the full thread, the fix is presented as attachment in one of the posts.

Yup, the statement is correct

I'll have a look at the the fix you provided. Ouch, nasty, I have to install a linux OS to fix it ? :/

Hope it'll fix the issue

Thanks for the answer, I'll keep you updated

You dont need to install it,

You can use a Live CD probably which saves you the hassle

Hello Tom and thanks for your answer

I installed ykpersonalize and gpshell and both gave the expected results. I then reset the key to ykpersonalize -m0, and tried the key on my phone.

It worked once : the phone asked me if I wanted to go to lastpass.com, I declined, and then it filled the lastpass app prompt and logged me successfully.

Just to make sure everything was OK, I quit the app, restarted my phone, and tested again : it didn't work anymore, 5 seconds later, without touching anything. It worked just once, and 5 seconds later stopped working.

Any explanation / way to fix this please ?

Back to square one, the key seems to do sounds when near the phone but nothing else.
Thanks in advance.

I had some help by David from the technical support but still no luck.

I tried putting m82 mode again => no luck
I tried apply patch again through gpshell => no luck

The nfc sound plays, but nothing happens on my windows phone.

Can you provide me with a fix once and for all or shall I ask for a refund ?

Thanks in advance.

There is a NFC windows phone thread tagged as [SOLVED]

Please read it
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1032&start=10

You will find at the very last post a detailed guide on how to do it.
Unfortunately this is a Windows Phone NFC stack issue and not a Yubikey NEO problem. You should contact Microsoft.
