Hi,

I have successfully set up 2FA with my NEO on my laptop for Chrome + Gmail. I have Lastpass and it provides the password and I press the NEO for the second step. I haven't been brave enough to tackle using the NEO to login to Lastpass yet.

I have looked for hours for a clear description for how to use the NEO NFC on my S6 to work with 2FA for Gmail but to no avail.

What I am hoping to achieve is to turn on NFC in the S6, hold the NEO next to the phone and it will log me into Gmail - or at least something like that. Eventually, I want to use it in conjunction with Lastpass on the S6 (which I haven't installed yet).

Can someone help a noob please with a step by step expanation or a link?

Thanks in advance.

Ted

Well with such poor documentation and no assistance I can only agree with what another user posted in the NEO forum:

Save your $50 and save half a day, put it back into the cute gummy plastic package and send it back.

Unusable with windows 7/8 despite every trick in the book suggested--personalization tool won't program it, the open source tools can't trick it, the login as administrator gimmick, the scrape off USB drivers and do it all again misdirection play, the reinstall it in a different USB slot ploy, the standup and go in a circle three times hokum, the try something we haven't thought of ruse.

Utter, thorough, complete & total waste of time & grief to try to get a simple piece of online security peace of mind.

Run for your life.

Hello Ted,

Regarding the software LastPass you can follow documentation (surprise surprise) on LastPass' website:
https://helpdesk.lastpass.com/multifact ... cation/#h4

Test it first from your PC and then from your mobile phone. You can always revert it from your PC.

Regarding U2F for Gmail, Google does not support NFC directly from their "Google Authenticator" application. As described in their documentation:
https://security.googleblog.com/2014/10 ... -with.html it is providing strong authentication via USB.

There are few workaround to this:

for example on Android you could use the Yubico Authenticator which basically does the same thing as the Google Authenticator.
The secrets are stored in the secure element of the YubiKey, retrieved via NFC and displayed on your mobile device screen.

In any case before doing anything it is recommended that you learn about OTP technology by reading documentation available at: https://developers.yubico.com regarding OTP technology and U2F.

And Google's TOTP:
