So far: Windows XP and Server 2003 R2 do indeed have the same problem. Installing the Windows Feature Pack for Storage 1.0 (Which references adding support for Smart Card Drivers including "ICCD and others") doesn't seem to have done the trick for either of those, and I am unable to find anything for the Yuibkey specifically. I'm going to try the HSM driver referenced, maybe it just happens to work...

Edit: Nope, no love even with the HSM stuff. Windows detects the reader, and I can force it to use the Microsoft USBCCID driver, but still can't access it as a smart card.
Statistics: Posted by OverkillTASF — Tue Jun 16, 2015 6:27 pm

Sorry to resurrect an old thread... I'm having a similar issue in that I am unable to use my Neo certificate-based smart card to remote desktop to our Windows 2003 servers and get the same error about no driver loaded. DuckDuckGo yields very little useful information. If I find this "driver" or whatever is actually needed I will post here.
Statistics: Posted by OverkillTASF — Tue Jun 16, 2015 2:43 pm

Tom posted the YubiHSM driver for some reason, which has nothing to do with the PIV driver you are looking for.

Microsoft didn't introduce PIV support to Windows until Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2. You might be able to locate commercial PIV middleware for Windows Server 2008, but I don't believe there is a freely available solution.
Statistics: Posted by DavidW — Thu Jan 15, 2015 11:48 pm

I´m trying to setup Yubico Neo with smartcard login.
And it works fine on Windows 7, Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2.
But server 2008 gives me an error when I insert the smart card: "the card supplied requires drivers that are not present on this system please try another card"
Is there any drivers for 2008 server?
If I look in device manager it only detects "smartcard reader" not the "identity device" shown on Windows 7. But there are no unknown devices in device manager.
Is there a driver that should be installed for server 2008?
Statistics: Posted by jape0002 — Mon Jun 09, 2014 2:21 pm
