Thanks, it was our fault we tried to disable logon with Yubikeys.

Aha! That explains it. I knew I'd completed the registration the first time, and couldn't quite square it in my head why I had to re-register today.
(I headed security for an on-line games company a little while back, and forum hacks, spam blasts, etc were an on-going pain in the . Sorry you had to suffer one recently).

Thanks very much Tom. That looks like just what I need. I may not be able to return to this for a couple of weeks, but once I've had time, I'll come back and post step-by-steps for this particular case, for other Yubikey NEO beginners like myself. (I'm a crypto old hand, but rather rusty; it was back in the late 1990s/ early 2000s that I was working with PKIs and smartcards!)

I assume you are trying to do this in a Windows environment with PIV smartcards.
