You don't encrypt with the private key: the private key is used for decryption.

If you can sign things with your key then you are on the right track. Paste in what you see when to go to the command line and type in the following:

Code:

gpg2 --card-status

or

Code:

gpg --card-status

Statistics: Posted by darco — Mon Feb 23, 2015 8:02 pm

Hey guys,
I've generated the keypairs on my YubiKey Neo, and setup a url for my public key.
But I wonder... How do I use the YubiKey for encryption?

I have YubiKey plugged into my OSX Yosemite, and Would like to encrypt a file/text using the YubiKey itself, but my PGP Keychain only displays the public key and can't select the actual private key for encryption...

Anyone?
Statistics: Posted by shanytc — Fri Feb 20, 2015 7:34 pm
