You're using "sudo" in that command. Are you sure you want to create a key for root? I've never done that, so I don't know what would be expected, but I suggest dropping the "sudo".

B.
Statistics: Posted by onemorething — Tue Nov 14, 2017 1:24 am

I am running Linux Mint 18, I keep getting a failure when I try to generate my main key pair with GPG2.
I am using the following command: "sudo gpg2 --full-gen-key"

I fill in all my details and then get as far as "We need to generate a lot of random bytes.... etc" and then the operation fails with:

gpg: agent_genkey failed: Operation cancelled
Key generation failed: Operation cancelled

My Yubikey works fine using Chrome to identify myself to Gmail, Facebook etc so I'm guessing that the Yubikey itself is working fine.
I'd appreciate any pointers with this issue.
Statistics: Posted by Buzzbox17 — Sat Nov 04, 2017 11:55 am
