Hello,

All Yubikeys come pre-programmed with a YubiCloud credential on the configuration slot 1. You do not need to program your Yubikey to use YubiCloud, it will validate out of the box.

Try it at demo.yubico.com

The second part of the issue here, is that YubiCloud only validates CC prefix keys (only programmable at manufacturing) and VV prefixed keys.

IF you want to configure your Yubikey with a new YubiCloud credential and upload it to the service you will need to fix the OTP prefix to VV..... (starting with VV as first 2 characters)

Regards,
Tom.
Statistics: Posted by Tom — Tue Sep 02, 2014 7:55 am

Good morning,

I received my Yubikey NEO and first thing I did, was to download the Documentation and Personalization Tool (Ubuntu 04.14)
I entered Yubico OTP mode - Quick and wrote Configuration to Slot 2.

When uploading to Yubico I get "OTP prefix mismatch, might be due to keyboard layout". OTP starts with "cccccc".

Searching documentation, this forum and the rest of the web, all I found was other people having that problem used a dvorak keyboard. I don't, I use a standard ASCII QWERTZ keyboard.

This morning I tried the same procedure on a Windos 7 machine and got the same error. What did I do wrong?
Thank you for any help!

Ralf
Statistics: Posted by rabe — Tue Sep 02, 2014 6:10 am
