Reset using OpenKeychain App - YubiKey bricked?

Recently I tried to use a YubiKey Neo with the OpenKeychain App for Android. For testing purposes I created a new key pair on the YubiKey using the App and then decided to remove it again. To remove the key pair, the OpenKeychain App apparently performed a reset of the device (https://goo.gl/4Z8qmw).

Unfortunately now the YubiKey is not recognized anymore by the App (via NFC). The App reports an error "Security Token reported invalid INS byte."

When I attach the key to a computer, the device is recognized as a SmartCard reader (YubiKey NEO CCID) however OpenPGP always reports the card as removed. The Neo Manager (1.4) shows the device as being configured in OTP mode and cannot change it.

Also the YubiKey personalization tool does not recognize the key anymore at all.

Anyone knows if it is possible to reactivate the YubiKey, or is it bricked?

Code:

$ ykneomgr -d -m
Trying reader 0: Yubico Yubikey NEO CCID 00 00
--> 13: 00 a4 04 00 08 a0 00 00 05 27 20 01 01
<-- 2: 6d 00
YubiKey NEO applet selection failed
error: ykneomgr_discover_match (-2): No device found

Statistics: Posted by cyrill — Wed Feb 24, 2016 8:51 pm
