Tom2 wrote:

Not all devices supports host mode USB.

You OTG cable may not work, you should verify your hardware

Understood. The NEO works just fine as a USB keyboard (e.g. I can connect it via USB OTG connector) and insert a Yubikey OTP into the android LastPass app's yubikey OTP field. So, LastPass will accept the code either via NFC tap or via USB OTG.

However, Yubico Authenticator on Android doesn't seem to recognize there's a NEO connected via USB. The screen says "Tap your Yubikey NEO to view credentials" which makes me think that, perhaps, it isn't bothering to look for a USB device. I could be wrong, though, so I also searched the app's github repository [ here: https://github.com/Yubico/yubioath-android ] for "USB" and came up empty, leading me to think there isn't USB support baked in.

If not, I think it would be a worthwhile add-in.

Brendan
Statistics: Posted by brendanhoar — Thu Feb 05, 2015 6:37 pm

I know Yubico Authenticator on Android supports the NEO via NFC, but does it also support the NEO via USB (e.g. connected OTG on phones/tablets or standard USB on other devices)?

If so, what base version of Android is needed and are there any caveats?

If not, is this something that can be added to the client?

Thanks.

B
Statistics: Posted by brendanhoar — Wed Feb 04, 2015 2:29 pm
