Hi! Good idea. There is the obvious spam problems to solve (anyone include spammers can set up an openid server), but a CAPTCHA solution could help here. This is something we should consider for the future.

We are going to publish the source code changes we have made to the phpBB forum, and if you or others can port it to use OpenID plus CAPTCHA that would help move this forward.

/Simon
Statistics: Posted by Simon — Mon May 26, 2008 9:39 am

What about changing the authorization for the yubikey forums to use open-ID instead of your native authentication scheme? One of the reasons why I ask is that if people want to play with the personalization tools for their yubikey, then they loose the ability to connect to your forum!

By letting people authenticate with open-ID, then they can just use the Open-ID they normally use for authentication.

Best regards,
Alex
Statistics: Posted by hasterguf — Sun May 25, 2008 5:12 pm
